Voice

Holding a BA in Music (Voice) as well as having studied in the BFA Musical Theatre Program at Kent State University, Erin specializes in proper breathing techniques, classical vocalises (warm-ups), sight-singing, and various music genres, including: Pop, Disney, Hip Hop, A Capella, Choral, Musical Theatre/Broadway repertoire, Sacred, Contemporary Christian, Country, Celtic and Classical.  Much of her vocal techniques have been tailored from years of private study, starting at the age of 16. Dr. Joseph B. Collins (PhD, Vocal Pedagogy) of Nashville has been her most influential Instructor, greatly simplifying and making known to her the best secrets of vocal execution.  Dr. Collins' insight has inspired Erin to share the gift of singing with her own pupils since January of 2012.  Her students have blossomed into confident, skilled performers who have accomplished leading roles in regional, university, community and school theatre productions.  Her students have also go on to pursue professional training at LAMDA- the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, UNCSA- University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and Baldwin-Wallace University. Erin is delighted to see many of her students enthusiastically and consistently performing, auditioning and competing.  Their pursuits have included America’s Got Talent, Ohio Youth Honors Choir, Irish feisannas, Singing Angels of Cleveland, singing “The National Anthem” for major sporting events, and prestigious university and conservatory programs including: Juilliard, NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Case Western Reserve University, and Boston University.

Acting

Having studied in the BFA Musical Theatre Program at Kent State and then going on to acquire more acting credits at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, Erin brings out the storyteller in her students.  She was privileged to study Advanced levels of (Sanford) Meisner Acting under the tutelage of CJ Tucker and Bill Feehely at Belmont and Actor's Bridge Ensemble in Nashville, TN. Erin has been involved in Regional Theatre shows since 2000 including The Allen Theatre at Playhouse Square, The Nashville Repertory Theatre at TPAC, Cain Park and the jHalle Theatre.  At the Nashville Repertory Theatre in Nashville, TN, she worked as a Student Intern for their 2010 production of A Christmas Story.  In Cleveland, she did professional acting work for the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and MetroHealth Hospital, as a Standardized Patient and Trainer.  Erin has enjoyed working on major films produced in Cleveland as an Actress/Extra for The Avengers, Fun Size, Draft Day, and Captain America: Winter Soldier.  Erin works with students on their Musical Theatre audition and production solos, monologues and Acting business marketing skills.  Her students have been accepted into professional training programs at LAMDA- the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, UNCSA- University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and Baldwin-Wallace University.  They have also auditioned for prestigious universities and conservatory programs including: Juilliard, NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Case Western Reserve University, and Boston University.

Piano

Erin has been taking private piano lessons since she was in the fifth grade.  Her study of Piano continued into college, taking Piano courses with H. Gerrey Noh and Dana Brown at Kent State.  Erin views the Piano as both a powerfully, complex solo instrument as well as the perfect accompaniment to the Singer's musical performance, understanding and growth.  Film Scores and Gaming Music are two of Erin's favorite genres arranged and composed for Piano. Along with Voice, Erin has been teaching students how to play and appreciate the Piano since 2012.  She has found that many students prefer her unique blend of classical training methods with contemporary music interests and repertoire and sensitivities to play-by-ear prodigies.  She believes that ALL forms of musical learning should be considered and introduced- including learning to read music (sight), learning to hear music (ear training/playing by ear), learning to write music (music theory and comprehension) and learning to "feel" music- invoking emotion, spirit and creativity.
